Compost firm County Mulch bought out of administration

The deal will see Material Change taking over County Mulch’s operations at Corby and Creeting, while Countrystyle will control operations in Suffolk and Bedfordshire. The Creeting site operates open windrow composting and bark processing, while the remaining four facilities operate in-vessel composting systems.

The acquisition increases the number of Countrystyle’s composting sites across the south and east of England to nine. The new sites add a combined capacity of over 115,000 tonnes per annum of food and green waste to Countrystyle’s existing capacity.

The purchase will see Material Change’s operating sites increase to seven in the Midlands region, with the new sites adding 60,000 tonnes to its output capacity and food waste processing at Corby.

A joint statement issued by Material Change and Countrystyle Group stated: “The purchase of these operating sites is a tremendous step forward for both companies.

“The development of food waste processing and anaerobic digestion plants is a strategic aim for both parties and these new sites allow us to offer well placed facilities to deliver various green and food waste mix options to local authorities and businesses in the region.”
