Lord Taylor replaces Henley as new recycling minister

Defra's recycling minister Lord Henley has been replaced by Lord Taylor, following Henley's new appointment as a Home Office minister in a cabinet reshuffle.

Lord Taylor of Holbeach comes with some knowledge of the waste industry having previously co-chaired the Associate Parliamentary Sustainable Resource Group, which helps inform policy debate among politicians and leading waste figures. He lists waste, energy and the environment as among his interests.

Lord Taylor entered the House of Lords in 2006 as a life peer and has been government spokesperson for the Cabinet Office, Energy and Climate Change, and Work and Pensions since 2010. He has also served as a Whip in the House of Lords.
