AECOM secures Yorkshire Water contract

Yorkshire Water has awarded technical and management support service AECOM with an £18m contract to upgrade its wastewater treatment works in Sheffield.


As part of the upgrade to the Woodhouse Mill works, AECOM will refurbish the existing inlet screw pumping station, new inlet works, drum thickeners, sludge tanks new centrifuges and poly plant, alongside general refurbishment.

According to Yorkshire Water, the upgrade it being carried out to ensure untreated water discharged back into the environment meets the standard of the revised European freshwater fish directive set to come into force in fours years time.

AECOM operations director Mark Studholme, said: “We are delighted to secure further work with Yorkshire Water as part of their extensive AMP5 capital delivery framework. AECOM are excited about being part of the fully integrated team, working collaboratively to deliver this project”.
