Former edie award winners make euro grade

The RSA Environment Awards Forum has unveiled the 12 UK entrants to be entered into the European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE), with former edie award winners M&S and the Olympic Delivery Authority making the grade.

As part of the competition, UK entrants for Europe are selected from the winners of RSA accredited sward schemes from the past two years – including edie’s Environmental Excellence Awards, which has now been rebranded as the Sustainability Leaders Awards (SLA), to compete against winners from 23 other European countries.

According to the RSA, accreditation is only achieved by a “select number of environmental and sustainable award schemes, which demonstrate high quality and validity”. As a result, those chosen for Europe are “the best of the best, the most far-sighted, responsible and innovative companies from across the country”.

Meanwhile, like its predecessor, the SLA remains one of the few environmental awards schemes accredited by the RSA as an official feeder scheme for the European Commission’s EBAEs. As a result, edie winners are deemed to be among the elite of UK award winners and, as such, have earned access to the European awards.

Here is a list of the 2012 UK Entrants:
