The larger of the two contracts, worth £31m, will see Galliford Try upgrade the Blackburn Meadowns wastewater treatment plant in Sheffield to ensure it meets the requirements of the EU freshwater fish directive. The work is expected to take about 18 months to complete.

The second project, worth £18m, involves construction of a new mesophilic anaerobic digestion plant at the site.
