WRAP Cymru is to hold a series of seminars next month across the country, coinciding with the third round of applications for grants from the Accelerating Reprocessing Infrastructure Development (ARID) fund for large scale infrastructure and reprocessing projects.
Through this fund, up to 40% of eligible capital expenditure is available, with awards falling within the £250,000 to £500,000 range.
To be eligible for the support, businesses must employ fewer than 250 people, have a turnover of less than €50m, operate in Wales’ Convergence region, reprocess commercial and industrial waste and/or work with certain waste materials.
WRAP Cymru’s European projects manager Bettina Gilbert said the aim of the ARID project was to accelerate development of reprocessing capacity in Welsh areas most in need of economic development.
“These events will give reprocessors the opportunity to get advice about the application process, meet WRAP Cymru’s business and markets team and find out about other advice and support available,” she said.
ARID is funded by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) through the Welsh Government and runs to 2015. It also provides grants to manufacturers to help boost the market for high quality recyclate in Wales.
