In a move designed to enhance the Finnish manufacturer’s local market focus, the relocated Tana UK remains responsible for all equipment sales, parts and service but will be supported by the full aftermarket capabilities of Saville Tractors Ltd. Tana UK will relocate from its present Telford office to Saville Tractors’ Stratford-on-Avon head office. To aid continuity, current UK Service Manager Paul Carson and UK Sales Manager John Cowcill remain with the company.

The deal comes at a time of continued growth and revitalisation for Saville Tractors Ltd. During 2004, the company was appointed regional dealer for Lifton site dumpers and for STA compaction equipment. All three new lines complement the company’s range of Case construction equipment.

The Tana waste compactor range currently comprises six models with operating weights from 26.0 to 50.0 tonnes. All are powered by emissions compliant Cummins diesel engines with Caterpillar C15 Tier III engines available as an alternative in the two largest models.

“We have been actively seeking new products to complement our Case equipment range and to make greater use of the aftermarket capabilities offered by our network of five strategically located depots,” says Steve Cooper, Saville Tractors Group Managing Director. “The Tana UK acquisition achieves precisely that, while taking us into an exciting new market area.”

Perttu Aho, Vice President Sales & Marketing for Tana Oy, is also enthusiastic about the new distribution arrangement. “Saville Tractors is recognised as one of the UK’s longest-established and best-known plant distribution companies with a strong reputation for aftermarket support,” he says. “In the harsh waste handling environment, aftersales service is at least as important as equipment sales and Saville’s focus on customer care was a major factor for us.”
