Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from edie!

As 2016 draws to a close, the edie team is now off for a well-deserved break until the New Year, but we thought we'd leave you with a few festive treats to keep you up to date with the year's biggest sustainability stories.

We can collectively say that it has been a memorable year, for better or for worse. 2016 was a landmark year for sustainability, with the ratification of Paris Agreement the crown jewel in a key year for the low-carbon transition.

But with major political question marks hanging in the air in regards to the ramifications of Brexit and Donald Trump’s presidential plans, the role that the private sector plays in this transition has never been greater.

As we look forward to another successful year for sustainability, it’s worth reminding ourselves of the great lengths many organisations went to drive a green economy over the past 12 months – not just from within their own operations, but through ground-breaking collaborations and industry-wide commitments.

For those wishing to remind themselves of 2016’s biggest sustainability stories, this is the story for you. We cover 16 of the most prominent stories that we’ve covered in 2016, including some edie exclusives.

One of the stories that made the list was the launch of edie’s very own podcast, which has covered an array of important sustainability stories across numerous weeks, including exclusive interviews with industry experts.
