Irish to buy Welsh wind-farm

Law firm Burges Salmon has advised Irish state-owned utility ESB on its acquisition of the Mynydd y Betws wind farm project in South Wales from Welsh renewable energy company Eco2, for an undisclosed sum.


This 15 turbine, 34.5MW wind farm near Ammanford in Carmarthenshire will generate power for nearly 20,000 homes when complete.

The Mynydd y Betws site was developed by Eco2 in co-operation with local private shareholders and is fully licensed, ESB will now proceed to the pre-construction phase.

Burges Salmon advised ESB on various matters relating to the acquisition including property, planning, commons and grid connection.
