WPL Environmental Wastewater Solutions has introduced a new product to its rainwater harvesting ranges.

The multi-purpose percolation tunnel has been designed to replace conventional drainage systems in both soakaway and surface water run-off applications.

The design of the percolation tunnel means that it offers 300 litres of storage per unit while giving three dimensional percolation for small domestic SUDS applications.

The system can also be used as an overflow or soakaway for rainwater harvesting systems. Manufactured from 100% recycled material, the tunnel also meets all current building regulations and the Code for Sustainable Homes guidelines. The range has been designed to be lightweight for easy handling and stackable to make it easier to transport. The tunnels are easy to install and have a minimal footprint.

They also work in conjunction with WPL’s RainRetain rainwater harvesting ranges.

Separately, in February this year WPL gained LABC registration for its Diamond Domestic sewage treatment plant, RainRetain domestic and developers’ rainwater harvesting systems and percolation tunnels.

LABC registration takes the strain out of building control approval processes because once a product has been approved by the LABC, those details are then shared across the entire LABC network

and are recognised by all LABC surveyors in England and Wales.

Although registration is not a certification, the system reassures architects, contractors, developers and specifiers that what they are purchasing or specifying has been fully checked by the LABC. WPL was assessed by Portsmouth City Council.
