Perhaps the most fundamental of all marine measurements, accurate tidal information is critical for Port & Harbour Operations, Dredging, Surveying, instrumentation deployments, and many other applications. As long established suppliers of both permanent and portable tide gauges, we sell over 150 systems per year to the oceanographic and hydrographic communities, in a variety of configurations. Our popular portable instruments are ideal for temporary installation in remote or inaccessible locations, logging tidal data for historical purposes or providing real time information over a variety of telemetry links. At the other end of the scale, some of world's best known ports are equipped with networks of Valeport tide gauges, providing tide and meteorological data in real time to large numbers of port users, with both fixed displays and data access through the web or local intranet.
Valeport’s popular Model 740 tide gauge has been designed to provide an accurate, easily deployed tide gauge for use in short or long term hydrographic survey operations. Low power consumption and user selectablesampling regime allow up to 2 years’ autonomous operation, whilst the optional radio transmission package extends the capabilitiesfor real time operations. Data output is compatible with the M Surveyor GPS Echo Sounder system.
The miniTIDE is a high accuracy, low cost water level recorder, designed to operate throughout a minimum of one lunar cycle. Combining the 0.01% pressure measurement technology utilised on Valeport’s larger instruments with novel low power, high volume data logging, the miniTIDE provides a cost-effective, reliable solution that will appeal to both coastal surveyors and academia alike.
