BOD COD Testing systems Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) - or Biochemical oxygen demand - is the amount of oxygen used by micro-organisms when they bio-degrade organic material in a water sample. BOD is used as an important measure of the degree of contamination in a supply. Wagtech two main mercury-free systems: the BOD Analysis Sensor System 6, and the BOD Analysis Sensor System 10. Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) is a vital test for assessing the quality of water.
