BOD COD Testing systems

Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) tests are vital for measuring and analysing the degree of contamination within a water supply and for assessing the performance of a treatment plant. Toxicity testing indicates the effect any pollutant in the water may have on organisms.

BOD COD Testing systems

Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) - or Biochemical oxygen demand - is the amount of oxygen used by micro-organisms when they bio-degrade organic material in a water sample. BOD is used as an important measure of the degree of contamination in a supply. Wagtech two main mercury-free systems: the BOD Analysis Sensor System 6, and the BOD Analysis Sensor System 10.

Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) is a vital test for assessing the quality of water. The COD test predicts the oxygen requirement of the water and is used for the monitoring and control of discharges and for assessing treatment plant performance. The Wagtech COD Analysis system offers a methodwhich is both practical and convienient. Fore more information please visist the BOD/COD/Toxicity section of the Wagtech website.
