Envirowise contract up for tender

Envirowise, the main UK-wide initiative promoting resource efficiency for business, with an emphasis on avoidance and minimisation of waste, is up for tender.

The Government is now looking for a suitable firm to manage and deliver the Envirowise programme on behalf of Defra, the DTI, and the Devolved Administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

As advertised on edie.net’s Tenders and Contracts page, the winning company will be able to provide independent, confidential advice and support on practical ways to make cost savings through minimising waste, minimising water consumption and discharges as well as other forms of pollution.

Envirowise enables business simultaneously to make cost savings and reduce environmental impact. The programme has been operating for over 10 years and has a successful track record on which the new contract will need to safeguard and build.
