Liz Parkes – Edie Awards 2011 Judging

Last updated: 26th July 2011

Currently head of waste and resource management, from the 1st April 2011 Liz takes on a challenging new role at the agency as its Head of Climate Change. The Environment Agency's core role is regulating the growing range of businesses that manage society's waste in order to minimise its impacts on the environment and people's health. It also tackles those that flout the rules. Liz and her team work with Government to set the direction for the organisation and to translate Government's policies into actions on the ground. Increasingly the Agency is working in partnership with other delivery bodies, such as WRAP, to support businesses in managing their resources more sustainably. Liz has been with the Agency since its formation in 1996, having previously worked with the Tidy Britain Group and local government.
