The forecast for the weekend is warm and sunny, but there may be a downside in the form of smog spreading across Southern England, the government has warned.

Apart from high temperatures and people flocking to parks and beaches the South of England can expect high ozone levels on Saturday, likely to spread to the rest of England and Wales on Sunday.

People are advised to avoid exercising outside in the afternoon and to cut down on car journeys to reduce the formation of ozone.
