Backed by the EU Sustainable Energy for the Rural Village Environment (SERVE) project, the institute is offering bursaries of up to 70% of the programme fees on part-time advanced certificate courses.
SERVE Project Manager, Seamus Hoyne told the Neagh Guardian: “The SERVE project aims to demonstrate that an area of North Tipperary can be developed to be a leader in the development of sustainable energy.
“We are implementing an insulation scheme for existing homes and supporting the development of the eco-village in Cloghjordan.”
SERVE, which was set up to run for five years in November 2007, also offers grants to people who want to install insulation in their homes.
Its focus is to implement energy efficiency measures in buildings.
The final two years of the project will be dedicated to monitoring its impact.
