Global Action Plan is a charity offering local authorities, businesses and individuals cutting edge advice on reducing their carbon emissions.

This year it will be working with edie to promote our awards which seek to highlight projects showing what is good for the environment can also be good for business.

Global Action Plan is backing the Carbon Reduction Award at this year’s event.

Global Action Plan’s acting head of special business delivery, Alastair Mumford, said: “Global Action Plan is partnering on the Edie Award for Carbon Reduction because this will highlight and reward those businesses who are being the most commercially savvy by engaging with the growing low carbon economy.

“This has the added benefit of helping all of us to lead more sustainable lives through the supply of goods and services with low carbon footprints.”

Luke Walsh, edie’s deputy editor, said: “We’re delighted to have Global Action Plan on board.

“The team there work with a range of small and medium sized companies who are often producing the kind of innovative thinking which can make a winning entry to the awards.”

Now in their fourth year, the Awards for Environmental Excellence are RSA accredited, making them one of just a handful of feeder schemes for the European Business Awards for the Environment

Winners are entitled to be considered to represent the UK in the pan-European awards.

Entering the awards could not be easier – those who believe they have a project that shows innovation, goes beyond simple good practice and meets our criteria need only write a brief case study and provide us with their contact details.

Entries must be received by the closing date of May 26.

The best of these will be shortlisted for consideration by our expert panel of judges.

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at London’s prestigious Hurlingham Club, London in November.

The awards are sponsored by powerPerfector.
