The latest floods have mainly affected the north of the country, while its western regions bore the brunt of last week’s deluge.
Thousands of mud brick homes have been washed away or damaged and crops have been ruined as large swathes of agricultural land have been inundated.
Untold numbers of livestock have also been lost to the floods.
The Afghan emergency response authorities have begun getting aid to affected areas, assisted by the UN.
