David Kennedy, speaking at the LowCVP conference yesterday (July 9), said the idea was basically finished in terms of low carbon transport.
Mr Kennedy’s comments came echoed the views of the Government who closed the Renewable Fuels Agency in March this year.
He told the conference: “There was not a big role for biofuels in low carbon transport.”
He went on to say that ‘perhaps’ there was a role for hydrogen and that he was disappointed so little eco driving took place as it was a ‘lost opportunity.’
Mr Kennedy, who previously worked on energy strategy at the World Bank, also called on the Government to ‘enforce’ current speed limits, rather than raising them to tackle emissions levels.
