South East Water sends gifts to armed forces

South East Water employees are digging deep by taking part in this year's Christmas Parcel Appeal run by the charity Support our Soldiers.

Staff from the water company have been buying extra treats, such as sweets, biscuits, toiletries, notepads, pens and even clothing during their weekly shop to send to members of the armed forces serving overseas during the festive season.

The charity was chosen by South East Water after the cause was brought to its attention by one of its water technicians, who is also a sergeant with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force.

Sergeant Geoff Godbold, said: “I am so grateful to my colleagues for getting behind this cause.

“Staff have either been creating individual boxes from themselves or departments have clubbed together to create group boxes. They may only be small, but these boxes spread joy amongst our troops abroad and are a huge morale boost.”

Meanwhile, Support our Soldiers regional coordinator Sandra Davey, said: “We are extremely grateful to staff at South East Water for their generous contributions to this amazing cause which is supported by the Ministry of Defence.”
