Siemens merger set to bolster water utility offering

Siemens is looking to strengthen its presence in the UK water sector through the consolidation of two of its existing businesses - Siemens Industry Automation and Water Technologies.

The new merger – Siemens Industry Automation & Drives Technologies (IA&DT) – combines both industry expertise and a broad-based product portfolio to cater to the requirements of the water utility industry. It also provides a single point of access within Siemens for water companies.

The team will be lead by Siemen’s UK municipal sales manager Andrew Reeks. He said: “Siemens IA&DT takes the water sector very seriously and believes strongly that the intelligent deployment of integrated industrial technology solutions can help water companies meet some of the many operational, environmental and regulatory challenges they face.

“This newly strengthened offering allows us to work with our water company partners from a truly holistic standpoint, and we are in a strong position to meet their requirements across a wide range of automation and water treatment technology areas.”
