As part of the Water Security competition, joint investment has been provided from The Technology Strategy Board (TSB), Defra, Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Up to £1m will be made available for feasibility projects, which must be led by small or medium-sized businesses.

A further £2.5m will be available for collaborative research and development (R&D) projects, which must be led by a UK business and include an end-user, while a further £0.5m will be available for specific projects that incorporate a space-saving solutions.

The competition is set to open on March 19, with a registration deadline of April 25.

Applications for feasibility study funding, and expressions of interest for collaborative R&D funding, must be submitted by May 2.
