The move follows the acquisition of assets from former wind turbine manufacturer Proven Energy. The new division will manufacture and supply small scale wind turbines for small holdings, agricultural applications and rural domestic users.
It has developed and built two small high yield wind turbines (3kW and 6Kw), which use a blade hinge design – allowing the turbines to continue operations in all wind conditions.
Kingspan environmental and renewables managing director Ralph Mannion: “We believe wind power has a significant part to play in meeting pressing government zero-carbon targets and the launch of Kingspan Wind marks our commitment to long-term growth and investment in this sector.
