As part of the expansion, from May 2012 people looking to dispose of their old cars will be able to take it to one of CarTakeBack’s network of Scrap Car Recycling centres to be recycled responsibly.

CarTakeBack worldwide general manager Graham Price, said: “Our success in the UK and the demand for a similar service in Australia and New Zealand, both of which have a high regard for the environment, is what led us to take the huge step of traveling half way round the world to offer the same service.”

Scrap Car Recycling Manager Jon Norgrove, said: “Hundreds of thousands of cars and light vans are scrapped in New Zealand and Australia every year. Until now there has been no simple place for the public to go to ensure they get a competitive deal for their scrap car, and the reassurance of responsible recycling. We are very excited to be delivering this innovative service across both countries, offering residents real value and peace of mind.”
