The ‘Recycling Cycle’ pilot currently engages six schools in Buxton, reaching more than 2,500 pupils, uses practical activities to demonstrate the importance of recycling.

It shows what happens to a plastic bottle after it has been put in the recycling bin and how recycled plastic bottles can be reused many times and turned into a wide range of products.

The scheme now includes new education programme and an extension to a poster competition. The campaign is partnered with Recoup and if successful will be rolled out in other communities across the UK to promote recycling.

Nestlé Waters corporate communications manager Siân Chapman said: “We are delighted to be expanding this pilot project in Buxton and to be working so closely with our local community to support our shared desire to live and act sustainably.

“There is such enthusiasm for this in our schools and we excited to see how the pupils bring alive our recycling messages this year.”
