Sustainability Live achieves CPD approval

edie is delighted to announce that Sustainability Live has been awarded Approved Training Provider status by the Energy Institute, meaning we can continue to deliver CPD-accredited workshops and seminars for energy management professionals.

The Approved Training Provider scheme acts as a mark of assurance that Sustainability Live – which this year takes place from 21-23 April at the NEC Birmingham – provides valuable professional development opportunities, appropriately-qualified staff and adequately-equipped facilities to meet the training standards set by the profession.

The Sustainability Live Approved Training Provider status has been awarded for the next three years, up to 2017.

“The learning opportunities at this year’s exhibition are exceptional, and we’re delighted the Energy Institute has endorsed the programme,” said edie publisher Angela Himus. “Delegates will now be able to count seminar attendance toward their Continuing Professional Development.”

CPD credits

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the term given to the commitment of lifelong learning and is a formal requirement for anyone who is a member of a professional body. It can help enhance career prospects, expand networks and help work towards or maintain chartered status. At Sustainability Live, CPD credits will be gained via the attendance of workshops and seminars.

Amanda Barnes, chief executive of Sustainability Live organiser Faversham House, said: “Sustainability Live 2015 will offer unrivalled opportunities for sustainability and energy management professionals to get ahead in their sector.

“This year’s programme of workshops and seminars will offer practical, case study-led advice and learning, alongside the opportunity to gain CPD credits. Furthermore, this year’s new Topic Trails will help visitors meet the leading exhibitors and suppliers to help turn the ‘what’ into ‘how’ and put their strategy into action.”

The Energy Institute – an edie knowledge partner – launched the Approved Training Provider scheme in 2012, extending the organisation’s work in accrediting energy educational programmes to raise the professionalism and improve the quality of training provision in the global energy sector.
