Webinar: 30-minute masterclass: How to engage with stakeholders on sustainability

Event Date: 28/11/2018 2:30 pm

This 30-minute masterclass, hosted in partnership with Cranfield University, will explore some of the skills needed to understand and engage with a range of stakeholders to optimise approaches to sustainability and unlock new business opportunities.

Brought to you as part of the new Sustainability Leadership Programme developed by Cranfield University for edie’s network of sustainability professionals, this masterclass offers a taster of the full two-day course on sustainability leadership being held at Cranfield University in March 2019.

As sustainability becomes more mainstream, it also becomes a focal point for a range of stakeholders, many of which are motivated and influenced by different motivations, behaviours and knowledge.

Learning to engage, emphasise and translate sustainability across the diverse spread of stakeholders is a key skill for any sustainability professional. This webinar will explore how best to unlock these skills.

The masterclass will be delivered by Paul Leinster, Professor of environmental assessment at Cranfield University. The masterclass will be free to watch live at 2.30pm on Wednesday 28 November and will be made available for anyone to watch on-demand afterwards.

Masterclass discussion points:

  • Understanding the differing needs of stakeholders and how best to engage and work with them.
  • How to identify the barriers to innovation and change, means of overcoming them.
  • How to promote the activities of the organisation including reporting, benchmarking and investor management.
  • How to influence consumer and customer behaviour.

The two-day Maximising Opportunities course – which this 30-minute masterclass is a taster of – will then help sustainability professionals develop their own engagement plans to showcase sustainability as a value proposition that captures the interest of a variety of stakeholders.
