UK slack on WEEE

The UK has admitted to being slow on implementing WEEE laws but has told the ECJ the situation is in hand.

Commission v UK

WEEE

The European Court of Justice has held that the UK failed in its obligations to transpose Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment by the deadline on 13 August 2004. The UK acknowledged its failure in this regard and stated that implementing legislation was being drawn up. Legislation implementing the Directive entered into force at the end of last year.
