Products / Services RPS has been involved with the works associated with the redevelopment of the high profile Belle Toute Lighthouse in East Sussex into a new bed and breakfast.
The client was aware that there was potentially a risk from UXO in the area of the lighthouse, and as such approached RPS for advice on ho RPS Explosives Engineering Services has the capability and expertise to offer our clients' a one stop service to meet their service requirements. Globally it has been estimated that there are thousands of locations contaminated by energetic materials.  Typically in the UK, the majority of UXO legacies have arisen from events and activities that occurred during WWII, notably from the Luftwaffe Aerial Bombing Campaigns and British Land Based Military Activity and Anti Aircraft fire.
However, an often lesser consideration is the legacy of UXO aris Guernsey, as part of the United Kingdom, has a very rare and unique World War Two (WWII) legacy in that it was occupied by both Allied (British) and Axis (German) forces at during WWII and sustained attacks from both Allied and Axis forces.
Due to Guernsey being the only part of the United Kingdo Over the last few years, RPS has been involved in a number of projects relating to the design and emplacement of various utility services.
