INTRODUCTION
Using sample valves and photographs of actual installations, the course will discuss basic valve operating principles and valve construction. Strengths and weaknesses of various valve types will also be discussed.

Hydraulic considerations and the effect of valve selection on system performance will be covered, together with guidance on selection of the most appropriate valve for the operating conditions.

Remote valve operation, maintenance considerations, and factors affecting valve life will also be discussed.
