Eriez at RWM to discuss metal separation and recovery
30 July 2004, News release from Eriez Magnetics Europe Limited
News release: Eriez will be present on Stand 972 at this year's Recycling and Waste Management Exhibition taking place at the NEC from 14 to 16 September. Eriez technical sales staff will be on hand to discuss clients' plans and projects for the separation and recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Eriez has been active in the recycling industry for many decades and offers the requisite knowledge and experience as well as a wide range of products to solve almost any metal separation and detection issue. Products offered include overband magnets, magnetic pulleys, ferrite and Rare Earth drum separators, non-ferrous eddy current separators and affordable, high sensitivity metal detectors, including the latest additions to the E-Z Tec range.
The mainstay of the Eriez product range for the recycling industry is the Eddy Current Separator (ECS). Eriez Magnetics Europe offers three types of ECS to suit different applications. The Standard Model ECS has been developed with a strong, high intensity magnetic rotor design to separate smaller metal particles down to 3mm in size. This type of ECS is typically used for cleansing cullet, plastics recycling and incineration ash purification. The LC Model ECS is a robust, workhorse-like Eddy Current Separator, which works well in separating larger non-ferrous metals in arduous environments where maintenance is minimal. As such, this design is commonly installed in Material Reclamation Facilities (MRFs) to recover aluminium beverage cans and within shredding plants to assist in separating larger aluminium directly after shredding.
The third model, unique to Eriez, is the SR Model ECS which is intended for very small particle separation, ie 2mm-3mm, and particularly recommended when multi-stage separation is required. This model has been successfully installed in many plastics recycling facilities for enhanced separation of non-ferrous elements, such as fine pieces of aluminium, and of stainless steel from granulated material. The SR ECS represents a very good return on investment, particularly given the improvements in purity and resale value of regrind which this system is designed to achieve.
Eriez have sold in excess of 200 ECS units in Europe alone, with several hundred more sold outside of Europe through other Eriez manufacturing affiliates, now totalling 8, including Eriez China.
Visitors to the stand will be able to pick up a copy of a new presentation CD showing the application of Eriez products and how they can be used to maximise metal separation and recovery, and accordingly plant efficiency and profitability.
