Atkins' framework contract with Environment Agency extended

Atkins has been awarded a two-year extension to the framework contract under which it supports the Environment Agency's national flood and coastal risk management and water resources capital works programmes.

One of the largest consultancy frameworks in the public sector at £50 million per annum, the Agency's National Engineering and Environmental Consultancy Agreement (NEECA) with its six consultants has been extended to October 2011.

Over this time Atkins will continue to deliver value for money and intelligent solutions in the sustainable design and programme management of schemes to mitigate the effects of flooding and coastal erosion and ensure water resources are managed to cope with climate change.

Recognised with an EA excellence award for habitat creation in the Anglian region last year, Atkins is pleased to be continuing its work with the Agency. Water & Environment Managing director, Graham Roberts said: "Atkins is delighted to be working with the Environment Agency and the other framework partners in the important sector of flood and coastal erosion management."
