Waterra-In-Situ. Groundwater equipment rental comes of age.
9 April 2013, News release from Waterra (UK) Limited
Groundwater monitoring equipment is becoming increasingly sophisticated, which has all sorts of implications for its users: both financial and operational. Waterra-In-Situ has stepped up to the mark with a major expansion of its equipment rental fleet.
The advances in accuracy and durability of sampling and monitoring equipment over the past ten years have provided a major benefit across the entire environmental sector. These improvements do have a slight catch for some organisations though.
For some people the sampling or monitoring requirement is infrequent, perhaps only an annual inspection is required. This makes it hard to justify the purchase of, say, a new logger even though they would benefit from more accurate measurement across a wider range of test parameters.
For other organisations the challenge is about evaluation. They may recognise that a particular device has a specification that appears to be the best match for their requirements. The challenge is to know whether it performs to those specifications in real world conditions.
In response to these issues Waterra-In-Situ has dramatically increased the range of its equipment rental fleet to include an array of loggers, water quality instruments, PID detectors and pumps. A portfolio that includes everything from the most sophisticated TROLL® 9500 sonde to our core selection of bladder pumps.
This result of this expansion is that Waterra-In-Situ can now fully support those customers who do have financial and operational questions to ask.
Where there is a cost of ownership issue we can provide rental units that not only remove the capital overhead but also offer savings on service, storage and repair.
Where evaluation is the issue our rental service provides a "try before you buy" option that has been an important factor in an upsurge of sales of our TROLL 9500, Level TROLL and Aqua TROLL instruments.
Jonathan Trelfa, Waterra-In-Situ's Managing Director, is delighted by the market's response to the company's rental expansion:
"Rental is helping organisations across the industry spectrum from environmental consultancies to field engineers. They can all find some benefit from taking this option and our sales and support team have taken great pains to listen hard to the different requirements."
