New work in the pipeline for AES
6 June 2006, News release from AES
Analytical and Environmental Services (AES) recently began work on a second contract with Water Service in Northern Ireland.
Water Service is an Executive Agency within the Department for Regional Development for Northern Ireland. They provide water and sewerage services to over 730,000 domestic, agricultural, commercial and business customers.
In April 2005, AES started the analysis of wastewater samples for Water Services as part of a contract lasting two years with a possible third year extension.
Following the initial success of this work, AES was awarded a further contract to start in January 2006 for the analysis of water treatment samples.
Samples of raw waters, treated waters and supply waters are collected on a fortnightly basis from across the whole of Northern Ireland. The analysis includes testing for a number of impurities, which include pesticides, metals and radioactive materials.
AES Contracts Officer, Chris Emmett, explains: "We're looking forward to forging greater links with Water Service".
"We are delighted that the quality of our work has been recognised with a company of such pedigree and profile and we will continue to provide high quality analysis, which delivers and seeks to exceed their expectations.
The Water Service company mission statement outlines the need to contribute to the health and well-being of the community, and to the protection of the environment. This, through the provision and development of cost effective water and sewerage services.
Water Service Scientific Officer, Gareth Maxwell, adds: "We have worked closely with AES from the start of our contracted wastewater analyses, and have always been impressed with their pro-active and timely approach in informing the customer of relevant information and the final reporting of results".
"We fully expect this close relationship to continue with the current clean water contract."
