Grundon Material Recovery Facility

We have 4 different Material Recovery Facilities (MRF's) at four of our depots including Colnbrook, Ewelme, Beenham, and Leatherhead.

Grundon Material Recovery Facility

Our MRF's each have an annual capacity in excess of 100,000 tonnes per annum. The plants process up to 90% of the paper, cardboard, plastic & glass bottles, steel aluminium passing through them for subsequent recycling. The major advantage of the Grundon system is that waste producers do not need to segregate their recyclables prior to collection.

We believe that the best way to encourage recycling is to make the process as easy and straightforward as possible. We do this by operating a simple two-bin collection system where all recyclable materials are placed in one bin, and a second container is provided for all residual (non-recyclable) waste. Currently, the materials that we can recover for recycling are cardboard, paper, glass bottles & jars, aluminium cans, steel cans and plastic bottles. For video click here.
