How to ensure full plant availability with minimal downtime
Saxlund Group discusses bulk handling and conveying issues for challenging alternative fuel systems at CemFuels 2018
Bulk solid handling and bio-energy combustion specialist Saxlund Group, which has a track record of delivering alternative fuel handling and delivery solutions to many of Europe’s leading Cement producers, will be explaining some of the issues encountered when handling modern alternative fuels at CemFuels 2018 and how to ensure full plant availability with minimal downtime.
The company will be explaining its design approach for minimising storage and transfer issues for what can be sticky and challenging materials, including SRF, RDF and other biomass fuels. This ensures long term plant durability, uninterrupted operation and minimal operator intervention to clear blockages and material flow.
A key focus will be on activated silo discharge solutions and conveying equipment with an emphasis on ‘First in, first out’ design principles to minimise compaction and material conglomeration. Key technologies covered will include the company’s leading Push Floor and Sliding Frame solutions, bucket elevators and enclosed chain conveyors, plus integrated screening, weighing and dosing solutions.
The team will present a number of case studies covering experiences across the industry including a complete end-to-end solution for one of the UK’s largest cement kilns, incorporating the reception, storage, transportation, screening, weighing and pneumatic injection of SRF to cut fossil fuel consumption. Other project experience includes secondary fuel-handling solutions for CBR Cement in Belgium, plus an RDF facility for Lafarge Holcim at the company’s plant in Höver, Germany.
In addition, Saxlund has wide experience of general materials handling contracts for the cement industry covering Tyre Chip Handling, Pulverised Furnace Ash (PVA) and FGD gypsum, each with differing materials handling challenges.
