Shredall announces certification of ISO 14001:2004
1 September 2008, News release from Shredall
Shredall is pleased to announce certification to ISO 14001:2004 after a successful two-day audit of its environmental management system in June 2008.
This highly-valued accreditation sits side-by-side with ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 which are both already held by the company.
Lloyd Williams, Shredall's Managing Director, explains:
"ISO 14001 will provide added reassurance to our customers that Shredall is mindful of its environmental aspects and impacts at all levels and working towards reducing or enhancing them where possible. We are focussing hard on our carbon footprint, exploring new technologies, and monitoring our business consumptions. As a company, our environmental awareness and commitment to sustainability has been reinforced by working towards this standard".
"However, the nature of our business means that we also bring something very positive to our customers. We continue to work towards a 100% recycling target for their waste and to source innovative recycling routes for unusual confidential waste streams. ISO 14001 is definitely good news for all concerned!"
Lloyd also believes that Shredall is in a unique position as a member of the BSIA's Information Destruction Section in possession of accreditation for its quality, health & safety, and environmental management systems, and hopes that this combination of certification will be an attractive package to the public and private sector alike.
