IWEX will see some new features to get the best buyers in such as the Water Industry Achievement Awards, Innovationlive!, Legislationlive!, a high level conference, seminars and plenty of networking opportunities. And it shows! Exhibitor space is filling up, so if you haven't booked your space yet, hurry to not miss out on the opportunity to be part of the largest event in the water and wastewater industry!
Water Industry Achievement Awards
The Water Industry Achievement Awards is a new scheme created by FHG magazines Water & Waste Treatment and WET News to recognize and reward excellence in the worldleading UK water industry. We are now inviting water and waste water companies, suppliers, consultancies, manufacturers, and research establishments to enter the awards and benchmark their outstanding successes in five key areas;
- Partnership Initiative of the Year
- People Initiative of the Year
- Best Information and Communication Campaign of the Year
- Sustainable Development Award
- WWT Innovative Technology Award
For more information about awards criteria, who can apply, and to download an entry form, please visit www.waterindustryachievementawards.info. If you would like to book a table for the Awards ceremony and dinner on 2 May 2007 at the ICC in Birmingham, you can download a form from here as well.
Conference and Seminars
IWEX 2007 will have a conference aimed at water and waste water companies, to start on Tuesday 1 May 2007 with a key note address. IWEX will also see free seminars, to be held in the Water Seminar Theatre on the exhibitor floor. Themes for the conference and seminars we currently are exploring include:
- Metering, how it's done in other sectors, including case studies
- Energy efficiency; what water companies can learn from other sectors
- Supply & demand, including sessions on climate change, leakage, water efficiency etc.
- Risk management - Skills shortage in the water industry, with presentations from different perspectives, including a few case studies
- Asset management, possibly a forum discussion
- Partnering; Research presentations, contractors opinions etc.
- UK Industry Showcase, aimed at foreign visitors with possible involvement of associations
Do keep an eye on our website www.iwex.co.uk to keep up to date on our conference and seminar programme.
Spreading the word
Last month saw the formal launch of Sustainabilitylive! We sent out more than 34,000 e-mails to announce ET and ES, Nemex, ICU and IWEX are now co-locating for the first time, under the umbrella brand Sustainabilitylive!, making it the largest environmental event in 2007. However, each show will have its own branding and marketing campaign. September also saw the first IWEX advertisements appearing in the trade magazines. A bit unusual they are hard to miss, however if you did you can see a copy below :
