With facilities in the UK, Netherlands, Norway and Belgium, its Corus Packaging Plus site in Trostre, South Wales is a foremost supplier of high quality light gauge steels to the packaging industries across the world.
Corus Packaging Plus was looking to achieve long-term savings and efficiency improvements in respect of its effluent treatment plant, boiler-house and waste management activities on site.
Corus wished to develop a multi-utility outsourcing strategy with an experienced utility provider who could offer operations and management within a single point of contact, allowing them to concentrate on their core activity.
Veolia Environnement (VE), through Veolia Water Industrial Outsourcing (VWIO), offered a ten year multi-utility outsourcing contract, calling upon the expertise and resources of three VE divisions - Veolia Water, Dalkia and Veolia Environmental Services.

Within the partnership, VE and Corus Packaging Plus are committed to delivering environmental benefits to the Trostre site which will be achieved through targeted investments in the existing effluent treatment plant and the build of a state of the art gas fired boiler facility. A further important feature of the partnership will be the significant cost savings to the Corus Group delivered through operating and technical efficiencies.
