Sewer much easier CCTV
Inspecting sewers, drains and water mains will be easier with the aid of the vCam View / Digital system, a new CCTV inspection camera package from SebaKMT UK. The system provides video images from inside sewers, drains, pipes, ducts, metallic or non-metallic pipes, conduits and even chimneys and is designed to be easy and simple to use.
Grontmij secures five-year UU deal
United Utilities (UU) has selected engineering consultancy Grontmij for its AMP5 Professional Engineering Consultancy Services (PECS) Framework. The deal is for five years, and entails Grontmij utilising its extensive range of water services, offering feasibility and design across networks and treatment facilities, including water and wastewater network modelling and analysis, as well as asset management.
Ofwat goes under Defra microscope
Ofwat faces a major shake-up following Defra’s decision to review the water industry regulator’s role and remit to ensure it can meet the challenges facing the sector. It is the first time since the water sector was privatised more than 20 years ago that Ofwat has come under scrutiny, and a final report is expected early next year.
