Meet Canadian Environmental Technology Companies at Canada House, Trafalgar Square, London, February 15
Canadian Clean Tech 2007 showcases three Canadian environmental technology companies from the energy efficiency, water management and renewable energy sectors, who are expanding into European markets.
This event is free to investors, environment professionals, procurement and technical managers and media. It includes a buffet lunch. All attendees must register in advance.
The presenting companies are:
Smartcool Systems Inc: an advanced energy savings solutions company for commercial and retail businesses. Smartcool is the owner, developer, manufacturer and worldwide distributor of the System 4000 Energy Saving Module (ESM). The Energy Saving Module" (ESM) reduces the electricity consumption (kWh) and maximum demand (kW) of air conditioning and refrigeration compressors. It can be retrofitted. Rather than replacing existing equipment, the ESM" works in conjunction with existing controls ensuring that the compressors work at maximum efficiency, with minimal energy, while maintaining preset temperature levels without causing over-cycling.
Pure Technologies Ltd: a world leader in providing information and communications technology for monitoring and surveillance of critical infrastructure. Pure will be unveiling SmartBall" a new and innovative leak detection technology. A free-swimming foam ball with an instrumented aluminium alloy core capable of detecting very small leaks in pipelines, SmartBall" can be inserted and retrieved from a pipeline without disrupting its flow. The ball travels with the water flow for up to 15 hours, collecting information about leaks over many miles of pipeline with a single deployment. SmartBall" is particularly suited to large-diameter trunk mains and plastic pipes, where current leak detection methods are not effective.
Polaris Geothermal Inc: a renewable energy producer focused on the development of projects in Latin America. Polaris has a 20 year "take or pay" contract to supply 66 MW of geothermal energy to the Nicaraguan distribution subsidiaries of a large European utility. Polaris has announced its intention to become a major supplier of Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs or carbon credits) to the expanding carbon market.
Each presenting company will be available for one-to-one meetings throughout the day. The agenda is as follows:
