Mono Munchers are used to reduce solids within a flow to a small homogenous particle size, whilst also providing protection for transfer pumps, eliminating blockages and subsequent downtime. Applications include maceration of raw sewage and biodegradable waste such as bones, offal and vegetable waste. For remote pumping stations, the combination of a Muncher and a low speed progressing cavity pump provides a highly reliable pumping system for the transfer of raw sewage to the local treatment works.

NOV® Mono®, Europe's leading designer and manufacturer of pumps, parts, grinders, screens and packaged systems, has launched a new addition to the TR Muncher® range.
This competitively priced model (now part of the successful Muncher® family) is designed specifically to meet on-site tanker discharge requirements and sludge/fat processing, by protecting downstream equipment from blockages, while allowing quick and easy inspection and maintenance.
Ian Hallows, Business Manager for Waste-Tec products at Mono, commented: "Our TR Muncher range has always been accepted as a heavy duty, reliable grinder to process difficult solids present in wastewater sludges. However, downstream process requirements have changed due to the increasing installation of finer inlet screens, resulting in reduced particles and solids loading within the sludge treatment process."

Installation of the new TR Muncher® is simple, with in-line flanges or the option of tanker coupling connections. Quick release inspection covers allow in-situ replacement of the cutters and these can be specified to either 8.0mm, 5.5mm and 3.0mm thickness to match the optimum particle size for specific process requirements.
