The European Union recognises the need to support businesses to innovate. The European Parliament has given its backing to fund a 53bn programme for research and development for 2007-2013 (Seventh Framework Programme) to assist businesses across Europe to innovate new technologies, with the environmental sector highlighted as a hot topic. Some of the priority areas for funding includes: waste-to-energy, CO2 reduction, conservation and sustainability, management of natural and man-made resources, clean technologies and waste prevention. For companies involved in new technologies the name FP7 may be already known well. But if they aren't, perhaps it's time for you to introduce yourselves. Companies wanting to develop new commercial opportunities who wish to discuss funding further - in particular through FP7 - and development opportunities available to bring their innovative new ideas, products and services to market can contact Pera's Tony Lesowiec on 01664 501455 (e-mail email@example.com) for further information.
