BiogenGreenfinch is one of the UK's leading integrated designer, builder, owner and operators of food waste Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants.
Based in Bedfordshire and with premises in Shropshire, the company is responsible for fifteen AD plants for both the farm and food waste AD sectors. Three of these food waste plants are owned by BiogenGreenfinch and have a total combined processing capacity of 90,000 tonnes per year: Twinwoods in Bedfordshire, Biocycle in Shropshire and Westwood in Northamptonshire.
Waste food from households, shops, pubs, restaurants, hotels, offices and food manufacturers is sent to BiogenGreenfinch's AD plants to be recycled to produce renewable energy and a biofertiliser for local crops.
Recycling food waste in this way, instead of sending it to landfill, is much better for the environment. Each tonne of food waste processed by anaerobic digestion prevents 905kg of CO2 and other carbon emissions from entering the atmosphere.
