Free Energy Breakfast Seminar in Central London - Transitioning to a decentralised energy network: how energy storage is central to decentralisation

On Wednesday, 21 March 2018, businesses interested in the UK's energy landscape and its future are invited to join Powerstar in Central London for a free energy breakfast seminar to explore a decentralised energy network; a concept that will require the simultaneous uptake of several elements such as distributed generation, distributed storage, energy efficiency, and demand response.

Concepts of a future decentralised energy network in the UK are continually gaining momentum due to increasing fears over the security of the electricity supply as demand grows. This is due to enlightening statistics showing that blackouts and brownouts are becoming more frequent, with a staggering 46% increase recorded in 2016 when compared with the number of occurrences in 2015.

When combined with further recent figures showing that energy related failures can total as much as 17% of a company’s annual revenues, the importance of securing the supply is clear and is an imminent issue that businesses should actively seek to address.

Powerstar’s short and informative session in London will discuss the implementation of intelligent energy storage solutions that will provide the UK with reliable energy at a much cheaper cost to the end user, whilst simultaneously assisting in balancing demand on the network, and, when combined with local generation and underpinned with UPS, reduce transmission losses and enhances supply security.

Special guest speaker: The seminar will feature a presentation from global leading energy management company, Energy Pool, who will join Powerstar in sharing their expertise to provide a wider perspective on the future of the UK’s energy landscape.

Delegates are invited to explore the energy landscape over breakfast sandwiches and refreshments, and those in attendance will discover:

  • What a decentralised energy network is and how it works
  • The limitations of the current electricity network and how a decentralised energy network will form a more efficient, secure and low-carbon future energy landscape
  • The role of energy storage technology in a decentralised network and the future landscape
  • How businesses can increase reliability, supply resilience and cost savings by implementing energy storage solutions
  • The benefits of a combined solution to deliver a decentralised network
