CDE announce investment in new factory
CDEnviro announced a major expansion today which will create 20 jobs and include a substantial extension to the company's existing production capacity.
CDEnviro manufactures a range of equipment for the sewage and waste water treatment industries and already supplies major UK water utilities including Scottish Water, Severn Trent and United Utilities as well as supplying contractors involved in drain cleaning and the recycling of road sweepings. The expansion will enable CDEnviro to expand outside Ireland and the UK into lucrative markets in Western Europe and Latin America.
CDEnviro General Manager Matt Bunting said "This expansion is the result of the success we have enjoyed in the UK market since the formation of CDEnviro in April 2011 and the creation of 20 new high value jobs is great news for both us and our customers."
CDEnviro originally operated as a division of CDE Global, the manufacturer of washing and classification equipment with application in quarries and mines. The two companies operate from the same headquarters in Cookstown, Northern Ireland and the new export focus for CDEnviro mirrors the approach taken by CDE Global which has seen them open new offices in India and Brazil in recent years. The company also has an extensive distribution network covering Europe, Australasia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
CDE currently employs over 120 people between CDE Global, CDEnviro and CDE do Brasil with an additional 120 people based at CDE Asia in Kolkata, India.
"Our success is down to a continuing focus on innovation, developing the right partnerships and constantly developing our people" said Brian McCullough, Head of Talent & Organisational Development at CDE Global.
"Our continued success in export markets is the driver for the latest expansion which will see a range of exciting new employment opportunities being created with both CDE Global and CDEnviro across a number of departments including Design, R&D, Customer Support, Project Management and Sales."
Construction of the new factory has now started and will be completed by August 2013. Project Management on the project is being undertaken by Jim Eastwood of Yellowbrick and the main contractor on the project is Sean McGlone Building Contractors.
The 20 new jobs will be created within the next 12 months and will cover a range of disciplines including Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Business Development & Customer Support.
