Cavendish Engineers win Best Workplace Retrofit at this year's Green Build Awards 2012. The award evening event took place at the Museum Of Science and Industry in Manchester.
The eight category awards were hosted and presented by Lucy Siegle, who is well known for being the environmental journalist on the BBC's One Show.
Three winning buildings and companies were commended in the Workplace Buildings Category. One for New Build, one for Retrofit and one for Building Management. Cavendish won the award for their case study building, 9 Millbank, situated in the heart of Westminster. The Grade II listed building which is HQ to Ofgem (Office of the Gas and Electricity Markets) has successfully reduced its energy by 56% since 2004. Judges commented "This is a creditable example of what can be achieved in public sector buildings with the persistent application of energy management practices."
Lizzie Phillips, Business Development Executive for Cavendish Engineers happily accepted the award on the evening; "It has been a pleasure to have worked with 9 Millbank since 2001 and fantastic news that our work with this iconic building has been recognised."
