Last Chance to Register - Finning Power Systems to host webinar on developing a sound business case for the use of combined heat and power (CHP) in the process industries
On June 12th 2014 Finning Power Systems (Finning) will be presenting an edie.net-hosted webinar aimed at developing a sound business case for the use of combined heat and power (CHP) in the process industries. The webinar will feature Jonathan Graham from the Combined Heat & Power Association (CHPA) as a guest speaker.
CHP is the simultaneous generation of usable heat and power (usually electricity) in a single process. This goes against the conventional and inefficient methods of generating electricity in which vast amounts of heat is wasted. With estimated cost savings of between 15% and 40% over electricity sourced from the grid and heat generated by on-site boilers, the benefits of using CHP to businesses operating in the process industries is potentially huge.
The webinar will be presented by Keith Stocker and Nigel Thompson from Finning, the UK's sole supplier of Caterpillar® engines and an expert provider of combined heat and power systems for over twenty years. It will feature an introduction to CHP before going into detail about the benefits to those involved in process manufacturing. The business case for CHP will also be made, with the presenters covering how businesses can approach a CHP project, and how to assess the viability of CHP for a specific site.
Jonathan Graham, Policy Manager at the CHPA, will also be on-hand to go into more detail on the financial benefits of CHP. This will cover the latest legislation and the grants and tax incentives available.
Commenting on the webinar, Nigel Thompson, Sales Manager for Gas Power Solutions at Finning said, "This webinar presents a fantastic opportunity for plant and energy managers in the process industries to learn more about the many benefits of CHP. Not only do we have experts on hand to discuss how energy efficiency can be improved at a site, but we will also be entering into discussions on the direct financial benefits and tax incentives for businesses that invest in CHP.
"There is also a great opportunity for people viewing the webinar to ask questions, and for them to really get to grips with the range of benefits that CHP can offer."
