At construction sites where precision work is done, adequate lighting is crucial. As Bombardier considers its 66,000 employees as the company’s most important factor for success, creating a safe and pleasant working environment is vital.
In order to contribute to the corporate health, safety and sustainability goals, Bombardier required lighting management capabilities on top of their new LED lighting to optimize light levels according to their employee’s needs and maximise energy savings. The implemented control strategies at Bombardier are daylight, task and time control.
Let the numbers prove it
Bombardier achieves 30% additional energy savings by connecting their LED luminaires to Luxon, compared to a retrofit without intelligent LED luminaires. In addition to these savings, Bombardier now also has easy access to all relevant information regarding their lighting system. A tailored report provided by Luxon dynamic light management software shows in-depth information with regards to energy usage and system performance. The connected lighting system will amortize itself in 2½ to 3 years by increased energy savings and decreased maintenance costs.
Thanks to connected lighting enabled by Nedap, Bombardier is now able to easily adjust their lighting system to future needs. Adding new sites or changing lighting behavior within existing installations can be achieved within a few mouse clicks. This results in a lighting system that adjusts seamlessly to Bombardier’s future needs and requirements.
