Portable wastewater sampling for Thames Water with Aquamatic's P2 Coolbox
8 March 2005, News release from Aquamatic Ltd
A total of 20 Aquacell P2-Coolboxes from Aquamatic are now in use at Thames Water sites, enabling wastewater samples to be taken from around 50 treatment plants.
More economical than stationary samplers when utilised for such a large number of sites, including smaller works that do not require intensive sampling, Aquamatic's P-2 Coolbox is the first portable wastewater sampler to meet the stringent requirements of E32, the Automatic Sampling Equipment specification for the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive. The sampler successfully completed the WRc's rigorous test program, which demonstrates compliance with the Environment Agency's E32 Technical Report.
Dave Crisp, Thames Water's Team Leader for Audit & Compliance, said: "Using Aquamatic's samplers give us the peace of mind that we have E32-compliant equipment and that we are complying with Urban Waste Water Regulations".
Suitable for use at remote sites or where no power is available, Aquamatic's Aquacell P2-Coolbox provides effective collection and storage of samples at the required 0-5°C.
The P2-Coolbox is just part of Aquamatic's proven product portfolio, which offers a comprehensive choice of portable and stationary samplers, based around a single sampler module. This includes the labour-saving Self-Emptying Polypropylene Bottler, which ensures that the previous day's sample is always available for analysis. It achieves this by intelligently emptying one of the unit's two 4.5 litre containers each morning, prior to the start of the day's sample routine - whilst the other container retains the previous day's composite sample.
